Mission Statement

The Louisiana Department of Education’s Office of Educator Support (OES) serves as a primary source of support for educators in Louisiana. Its goal is to provide innovative and effective professional development, instructional resources and technology, leadership programs, and responsive customer service that are instrumental in helping to instill pride in the teaching profession and a commitment among Louisiana educators to lifelong learning in the form of professional development. The mission of OES is to ensure that every child in every school has access to instruction delivered by well-trained teachers who are accountable for the academic success of every child and that the needs of all children, including special needs, at risk, and poverty stricken, receive support and services that promotes improved student achievement.

The OES is divided into four divisions. Each division has key areas of focus, all of which are designed to support students, teachers, and educational leaders throughout the state.
